Abstract:The analysis of sedimentation and reservoir backwater is of great significance for reasonably determining the elevation of inlet/outlet of pump storage power stations, the selection of electromechanical equipment, sediment interception and discharge measures, water and sediment dispatching methods, and submergence scope in engineering design. Focusing on the specific case of the newly-built Jianquan Pump Storage Power Station in Yunyang, this paper conducts analysis and calculation from three aspects: sedimentation amount, sediment concentration through turbines. and reservoir backwater calculation. A one-dimensional steady non-uniform sediment mathematical model is adopted to study the channel sedimentation amount, sedimentation morphology, sediment concentration through turbines, particle size distribution, and reservoir backwater characteristics of the upper and lower reservoirs of the station under different working conditions. It provides technical references and scientific bases for similar projects to determine the engineering design scale and engineering operation management.
