Abstract:Based on three dimensions of production, living, and ecology, and combined with the impact of drought, this study established a comprehensive evaluation index system for the spatial equilibrium of water resources. The General Deprivation Index (GDI) was adopted to evaluate the Water Resources Spatial Equilibrium (WRSE) in Shaanxi Province. The research results show that from 2012 to 2022, the average value of WRSE in Shaanxi as a whole presents a pattern of spatial imbalance, with a higher value in the south and a lower in the north. The construction of the water grid can make the WRSE increase by 8.95% year-on-year in 2035, and the spatial equilibrium is significantly improved. Through the evaluation, the imbalance and contradictions of water resources in each municipality-level city can be determined, providing a scientific basis for the smooth implementation of the water grid construction plan, which has important guiding significance for improving the spatial equilibrium of water resources in Shaanxi Province.
