Abstract:Affected by the subtropical high and typhoon, the precipitation in Jining Municipality in July 2024 showed obvious characteristics of rapid conversion from drought to flood, frequent extreme precipitation processes, and uneven temporal and spatial distribution of precipitation. The average precipitation in the city in July reached 500.1 mm, which was 161.4% more than the average of the same period over the years, ranking the second highest in history since 1955. This paper systematically analyzes the causes of torrential rain, the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of precipitation, the characteristics of river floods, the flood process of the Sihe River, and the flood control benefits of reservoirs in Jining Municipality in July 2024. The research results can provide a reference basis for flood control, drought relief, flood disaster reduction in Jining Municipality.
