Abstract:To fully understand the research progress and status of smart hydrology, based on the relevant research literature on "smart hydrology" from CNKI during 2010—2024, this paper adopts bibliometric and visualization methods, and uses CiteSpace software to construct various visual knowledge maps of keyword co-occurrence, clustering, timeline, and burst terms, so as to clarify the temporal context, hotspot evolution, and development trends of the research field. The results show that the number of publications related to smart hydrology has increased year by year, and its development is closely related to national policies, showing a rapid development trend since 2017. Through cluster analysis and timeline deduction, it is found that the technological development of smart hydrology will remain the mainstream research direction in the future. Hydrology, smart hydrology, digital watershed, and smart water resources are the main clustering groups with a high degree of co-citation. Domestic research on smart hydrology needs to be further deepened in new directions such as digital twin and "Four Preventions". The construction of knowledge graphs can realize visual analysis and display of complex hydrological problems, improving research efficiency and quality.
