Abstract:As a strategic measure to resolve the contradiction between water supply and demand, and ensure the sound operation of farmland water projects at the county level, the comprehensive reform of agricultural water prices plays a vital role. It improves the long-term management and protection mechanism, and clarifies the management entities and responsibilities of irrigation district facilities, through engineering construction, water price verification, establishment of management mechanisms, and evaluation of water-saving effects. Targeted subsidies are provided to grain-growing farmers; high-efficiency water-saving technologies such as sprinkler irrigation and drip irrigation are promoted; and social involvements are encouraged to participate in management and protection. These efforts ensure the sustainable performance of modern irrigation districts and boost agricultural water conservation and sustainable development.
