Abstract:River projects are key infrastructure guaranteeing regional security of flood control, water supply, ecology and food. Based on the current situation of rural river regulation in Jining Municipality, this paper sorts out prominent shortcomings including heavy regulation tasks, severe flood prevention pressure, insufficient management and maintenance manpower, inadequate capital investment and weak public awareness of river protection. Combined with latest practices such as the construction of municipal modern water networks, development of beautiful and happy rivers and lakes, and deepened implementation of the river-lake chief system, optimized countermeasures are proposed from six aspects: intensifying regulation efforts, setting up special working groups, conducting integrated planning and layout, strengthening supervision and law enforcement, deepening inter-agencies coordination, and enhancing publicity and guidance. The research provides references for long-term improvement of rural rivers and the construction of water-beautiful villages.
