Abstract:In the construction of modern water supply network projects, weld joints of metallic water pipelines with various types and service conditions inevitably contain volumetric defects (porosity, slag inclusion, etc.), planar defects (incomplete penetration, lack of fusion, etc.) and surface defects (mismatched edge, undercut, etc.). X-ray inspection technology can detect the above weld defects and realize qualitative & quantitative evaluation together with file archiving and traceability. This paper briefly introduces the existing problems, corresponding countermeasures and engineering cases of current X-ray inspection.
